Spirit Drawing

I began today an art class.

I am following the chapters in Jude Siegel's book.

I read this book in February and was impressed.
I had picked it up at the library so I had to return it.
After debating on if I could/should learn to draw and do some watercoloring I decided
to order the book and have a class at the kitchen table and let this book be my teacher.

I went out to the gardens looking for a tulip to draw.
This one spoke to me.

I gathered my things and began my drawing.

I used colored pencils today.

I am going to the art supply store tomorrow for water color pencils.

I also have plans to stop at the yarn shop.

I am hoping to buy some wool yarn for my first knitting project!

This sounds so "you" Sherry. Good luck with your drawing. I am doing the Artists Way right now or I would join you. I am trying to draw every day. I wish I could be inspired to paint every day but the spirit doesn't move me to do so. I love your first drawing. Do keep at it. One does improve it is amazing to see it happen.

Dear Sherry.....Lisa is so right, do keep your very first drawing, it is precious.......
I used to draw a lot......it is something I loved, time is the issue now.....

I love that you are teaching yourself.....this will be such a fun thing to do.......

Off with another project, does Sherry ever sleep ;-)

Drawing is very good and the duck is very cute.

Watercolor pencils, don't buy the cheap ones. They never work right. Prismacolor are not bad, I have a set and I keep forgetting about them.

Dear Lisa,
I did the Artist Way years ago. I still do morning pages! I wrote every day for 21 days I think it was back in the 1990's. I love her books!
I shall keep all my drawings. I have a sketch book I am working in right now. Your water colors have inspired me!
I love learning and expressing.

Dear Cheryl,
I am keeping my sketch book so these first drawings will be in the book. I just enjoy the process.
I did get some water color pencils.
I also have so many things I want to do and never enough time to do them all.
I still love the spinning too.

Dear Cathy,
I seem to have so many interests!
I would love to do as Lisa does and sketch and water color my travel journals. I just need the practice so I am comfortable!
I do a little bit of this and that!
My girlfriend's husband is the manager of an Art supply. He brought over a fantastic set of water color pencils...they are beautiful. I hope to work with them tomorrow!
