New use

I bought this vest at the second hand shop for $2.00.
It looked like a teapot cozy to me.

It has been years since I sat at the sewing machine.
It has been years since I designed a piece.
Yesterday I found the teapot that would look perfect with the cozy.

This morning I cleared the kitchen table off.
I had no pattern or instructions; just the cozy in my mind.
I pinned and cut and stitched and broke a needle.
I made a mistake and had to take the stitching out and try again.

I am so pleased.
It looks just like the cozy I had seen when I saw the vest.
I had fun too creating her.
I am back with ideas .
I am ready to make hats and bags.
I have a jacket in my mind and a silk skirt to go with.
I need a dress form. I need to redo the office.
I am ready to create again.

I just love this creation. It is funny that I make tea cozies too. I haven't tried a sweater yet. This inspires me to make a cozy out of a an old Christmas sweater that Gary gave me many years ago. I don't wear it any more but this way I could certainly use it.

Dear Lisa,
So glad you are inspired!
I think the teapot cozies are so cute. I wanted an October one. Could not find one so I came up with using the old sweaters.
Using the special sweater would be so nice.
Re-do and love again.

Dear Cheryl,
I love waking up in the morning filled with ideas from dreams of creating.
I am gathering my raw materials now. I decided all my creations would come from "used" items. This way I am recycling...
I think I will post about the gathering and the crafting right here!
I am wanting to make hats and purses and jackets and skirts....
Winter is coming and I hope the fires of creative engery burn brightly for me.
