Vinegars and salts

We wait for rain.
I felt hopeful when I saw a few clouds.

They went on without leaving any moisture.

The figs are growing nicely.

I was able to spend some time outside with the birds.
It was cooler, only in the mid 90's.
A family of Orioles come for jelly and water.

I am having fun making infused vinegars, oils

and flavored salts.

These too hot and dry days are perfect for playing

with herbs in the kitchen.

One garlic braid is enough for now.
I have small baskets of cleaned garlic heads for gifting
and for winter use. I also set aside some to
plant in October.

We wait for rain.
I am finding ways to enjoy these July days.

You are a busy bee. The vinegars and salts look great. You will be so pleased with yourself for getting this done while it is too miserable to be outside. When did we start thinking that temps in the 90's were tolerable?? Geez what a summer. At least right now the mornings are wonderful. Here is to hope for rain.

P.S. That garlic braid is beautiful as well as useful.

Dear Sherry,

Beautiful garlic braid. When we visit France, I bring several home with me :) I am a lover of garlic.
I love your vinegars, so pretty.
Salts have me puzzled, I have never seen this. Hmmmmm, I shall have to do some research.

The Rain Dragons seem to have made their home here, although at this very moment the sun is shining but dark clouds are in the distance.
We are once again expecting torrential rain tonight:(
