I am making a braided trim for the edge from the pieces left over from my slippers.
After I make a project
I am using the scrapes for tree ornaments.
There are sixteen panels to fill on my tree.
Lots of space to practice stitches.
Lots of space for soft sculptures.
My tree is a story tree.
It is coming right along.
I have the rest of my life to finish it.
I am in no hurry.

Sherry, Your tree is so awesome!
What a perfect project for these days before Christmas. . .On-going projects are the best! I look forward to seeing it "grow".
Love and hugs to keep warm~carol
Dear Sherry.....this tree will be special....it will be a tree to remember.....a work of art......
I love the colours and the attention to detail.....it is a pleasure to watch the tree grow.....
This is way cool. It will be so special when you feel it is finished with all the different stitching, colors and ornaments.
That is one cute and unusual tree!

Dear Carol,
I am really enjoying my tree. It is an on-going creative outlet for sure. One of these days it will be eight feet tall and filled with memories and stories of my fiber art.
I have it in a pot right now and on a lazy susan. I work on her when ever I am the mood. All of my things are together so it is easy to pick up the needle and create.
Thank you for your kind support.
Hugs,
Sherry
Dear Cheryl,
Since I began my tree in December 0f 2008 I will give myself a year to do the first layer. Come next December i will make the second layer. Just like a real tree grows yearly so will mine. Some day it will be very large...
I already am so fond of her that I bet she gets a name soon!
Thank you for enjoying my tree too.
I will share her every now and again.
A tree grows in my heart and in my studio!
Sherry
Dear Lisa,
Having a place to practice my stitches is nice. I did learn how to make a butterfly with rove and my felting needles. Now I want to learn how to make bees! I need bees for my shoes!
I wonder if I will ever be finished? I almost hope not. Maybe I will be stitching on my tree when I am 100!
Felting is fun,
Sherry
Dear Cathy,
Thank you. I am pleased withthe tree so far. My husband knows I need a studio to go with!
I will keep working and learning.
Sherry, who is growing a felted tree one stitch at a time
Hello Q,just a quick note to say hi, and tell you about the wonderful snow we have had all day. I love the snow, and we get very little of it so this is a real treat for me and my family. The only bad thing is they are saying ICE STORM. That is bad we have had them before and they do all kinds of damage. I really like your felting. I think I need to try it. TTFN
Dear Wanda,
Snow is very pretty so glad you are having some. I am always amazed at how pretty it is falling in the air and onto the trees. Ice is very scary! I also have been in many ice storms. We have lost many trees to ice. It can be very beautiful but in am awesome way.
Do try felting it is fun!
Stay warm and safe.
Happy Christmas,
Sherry
Your little tree is very cute. What a fun idea.
Hope your holidays are bright!
Dear ICQB,
Thank you!
I love the little tree. Each time I do a little something for it I am so pleased. I am working on a couple of tiny Gingerbread boys for a panel. They are so tiny a couple of stitches is all each one needs.
