Soft hat or a neck wrap

Today I crafted a soft black cashmere wrap hat.
I felted the black sweater in the washing machine last week.
The striped wool bow was a left over piece from my
bag and hat project.

The hat wraps around my head and ears
and fastens in back with a large button I found in my
Grandmother's button tin.
I tried it around my neck and it looks cute as a neck warmer.

I am getting ready to take my hat out on it's maiden voyage.
I am going walking.
My ears will be nice and warm.

While I sewed up my new hat I felted
a few more sweaters in the washing machine.

The wool and alpaca turned out very nice.
It is dense and will take a few hours to dry.
I will have to think about what I will craft next week
with this nice piece.

Warm neck and ears are a good thing especially when they are wrapped in pretty things.

Dear Lisa,
I really like the way the hat looks as a neck wrap too. It will be a way to take my hat off when I go shopping. Laying around my neck like a little collar will look cute!
I am thinking about making collars and scarves. The soft felted sweaters are quick to sew up too.
Little scraps from other projects make cute decorations too.
This up-cycling is so fun.

Dear ICQB,
Thank you!
I have enjoyed wearing my new hat these past couple of days. It is very cold this morning, 16 degrees!
I have a massage this morning so when I bundle up my new cashmere hat goes with. It is warm and small enough to fit into my coat pocket. A very handy hat!

Gosh Sherry I have just been looking at all the posts that you have done.....I have been showing my mother in law....in her younger days she was a seamstress and made wonderful outfits. She thinks your work is wonderful, so do I.....you most certainly have a wonderful gift......

Dear Cheryl,
Thank you for sharing my work with your Mother-in-law. I do enjoy making things from the felted wools. My mother was also a seamstress. She could make anything! Although she did not make hats.
I am having lots of fun.
Thank you for sharing and encouraging me.
