I am making slippers today
from a piece of wool I felted last week.
I made a trial slipper from a piece of fabric that was in my scrap basket.
I wanted to make sure my slippers would fit.
Once I get the pattern right and learn the technique
I would like to make a pair of silk slippers.
The felted wool is thick.
These should be very warm.
I will put the binding on by hand.
I would like to learn Stumpwork Embroidery.
I have begun to gather my beads and threads.
I dusted off my embroidery box.
Bees on silk slippers and dragonflies on silk bags sound lovely.
Perhaps I could embroidery a garden scene with butterflies and lavender.
I could wear my garden on my sleeve when the weather is cold and the skies are grey.
Wearable art is exciting!

I love wearable art. There are several magazines dedicated to this. Great inspiration.
i love these slippers. i need to make myself a pair. the stumpwork sounds wonderful.
Dear Lisa,
As you can tell I am working towards having all my clothes works of art.
It will take awhile before I am there....LOL...
I will look for magazines. Staying inspired is so necessary.
These slippers were fun to make too.

Dear Marmee,
I am sitting at my desk this morning with my slippers on...they are comfy and warm.
The Stumpwork will take awhile to learn. I am gathering my supplies. They have become scattered all over my house. It has been many years since I did any embroidery work.
I hope you do make a pair of slippers. Maybe you will share your crafting??? I would love to see what you do.

These look so cozy already! And I LOVE the fabulous cap and tote below!

Dear Sandra,
Thank you!
Tuesdays are crafting days and I am thinking about what I will whip up this week. I would like to get some felting needles and learn how to do needle felting. It looks fun!
Thank you for your encouragement!
Sherry
