Dear Chris, Sitting outside with the birds in the cold is a wonderful experience. While watching the sunrise with the Cardinals and Mockingbird I felt connnected to the avian world. I was "one with the birds". Sherry
Dear Jeanne, I guess I could "Photoshop" this and put a sunrise behind her! LOL Because of the way my backyard is the sun peeks through my neighbor's trees until mid-morning. Early like this, the background looks brown. Not the pinks and yellows we think of as sunrise. Sherry
I just love this photo. It exudes life. Almost as if you captured its spirit. This is why some peoples don't want their picture taken. They don't want their spirit to be revealed. This is a beautiful spirit.
Dear Lisa, Thank you. I think of myself as the female Cardinal. Often in a post I will show a picture of one when I want to give my voice to the essay. This picture is different. Here it was me and her together watching the sunrise. She was more interested in the sun than in me. I liked that. I felt so connected. Sherry
Dear Sprite, So many pictures! I also really like this one. She looks soft and it is easy to see it is winter. I love the way the sun is shining on her face. We know that she is looking into the sun without the background telling us. The snow on her tail is also very pretty to me. It shows she has sat for awhile. Thank you for saying it is "breath giving"! I did sit with her and Mockingbird and inhaled the morning light. Love and light, Sherry
Dear Merisi, Sometimes I take pictures and they are just pretty pictures, sometimes they speak. I am so glad this photo spoke to you. It also speaks to me. Sherry

All puffed up like that in the snow she looks so cold...
Dear Lana,
It was bitterly cold, 12F!
I was wrapped in blankets sipping hot tea and watching the sunrise with her.

Just wonderful :-)

What better way to express a sense of peace, expectation, and delight, all in one image?
