Perfect for when I sit at the spinning wheel.
These were so fun to make too.
I made a pair for my son out of home spun alpaca yarn.
I think they will keep him warm this winter.
did a post about Mary Janes Farm
and the slippers.
When I left a comment about wanting to try to knit them
Deb was so kind and sent the pattern.
Thank you Deb!
Right away I subscribed to the magazine. Lots of good green ways here.
These slippers were fun to knit. This was my first attempt at following a pattern. I left the strap off of the two pairs I made last week. I think I will try a pair with home-spun yarn for me. I shall try to knit the strap.
I just love knitting!

Dear Aluajala,
I am having so much fun!
My homespun alpaca yarn is thick and makes for warm slippers.
I did use a pattern and it was the 1st one I have followed. I hope to find an easy hat pattern next!
You would love these slippers....
Sherry
Dear Marmee,
I think you would enjoy Mary Jane's Farm. You ARE living the life!
I found that knitting just the knit stitch until I was comfortable was a great way to start...I did get a book too. I just love the knitting needles I bought.....rosewood with mother of the pearl inlays...they are so lovely I just want to hold them...
Knitting withthe Paco-vicuna is heavenly too.
Sherry
Dear Cheryl,
I am going to make my daughter a pair with some homespun Alpaca too. My son's slippers turned out very nice. I did a pair for me with the Alpaca homespun and am so pleased. I have them on right now!
Hats are next.....

Dear Sherry, may I ask you to send me this pattern please? I would really really love to make such slippers too but I'm not sure if I can get this magazine here in Russia...
Knitting a hat must be fun too! When it gets colder here I hope to make myself a hat and a scarf too )
Your slippers look so comfy. And fun to make. You will be warm this winter - and your son too!
Dear Sherry,
I have just spent a lovely morning looking at your absolutely gorgeous photos! Oh my you live in a beautiful place. And you have such talent.
Then I found your other blogs, Auryeveda (which I love also) and now THIS! knitting is one of my favorite things in the world. I LOVE these slippers and need to make them! I just now got off the phone with Mary Jane magazine and the gentleman tells me they are all out of the Aug/Sept.issue. I am going to do something i've not done before, and beg for this pattern! Would you be open to a swap? I have some lovely hat patterns or even some fingerless gloves (that are perfect for those cold days outside with the camera) I just made a pair from some local alpaca and they are wonderful. It's a simple pattern you might like.
Thank you for considering my offer, I am laughing at myself, the lenghts we knitters go to sometimes.
oh, and also, where did you get those needles??? maybe i need a pair of those too. hahaha!
thank you so much,
lori
