On the deck

The sunflower seed that spilled from the bird feeding station sprouted.
The sunflowers bloomed and now are setting seeds.
The American Gold Finches feed on the sunflowers while I drink my tea.
Gardening with the birds is very easy.

Hi Mary,
My husband liked these two photos so very much. He thought I should post them!
He likes the photos I take that look like paintings.
I might print and frame one of these. I think one would look nice in the new walnut frames I bought.
I may end up doing a room in backyard birds and butterflies.

Sherry,

The angle of the goldfinch is absolutely gorgeous! Just like a painting for sure.

These will make beautiful framed art.

I can see a whole house of birds and butterfly art on the wall.

Very nice!

Dear Sprite,
After I get my outside gardens just the way I imagine them I will turn my attention back to the inside of my house. I think my downstairs will be my "gallery".
I am five years out on that!
At least I can get the photos of each bird and butterfly that visits taken and framed!
I think I have the male Gold Finch photo I want. Now to see if I can get a female in just the right pose and background and flower.
Fun!

The Yellow Finch is one of my favorite birds. May I ask what kind of camera you use? Your pictures are just lovely. Nita

Hi Nita,
The American Gold Finch is a wonderful bird. The males are pretty in their summer colors. They have a sweet little song too.
We have a small flock, 10- 12, that live in our backyard all year.
I use a Nikon D50. I have three lens so I can take photos from 18x-500x. I have ordered a macro lens which I hope to pick up in September.
I rather took to the camera last year!
